Exams are over!! This cookie dough has been sitting in my fridge for a long, long time.. well not really, but I wasn't expecting it would take me 3 weeks to finally bake it. I didn't think to wrap it tightly and put it in a ziplock bag so there was the slightest bit of freezer burn.. ick. Freezer burn or not, sugar cookies are still not my favourite. I think it's because they're kind of tasteless. I'd rather save the calories for a really good CCC! The truth is, the only sugar cookies I like are the ready to bake Pillsbury Easter and Christmas cookies. It kinda hurts me to say I love frozen cookie dough over homemade, but the texture is so addicting!
Thanks to Ulrike of Ulrike for choosing this recipe, which can be found on her blog and in Dorie Greenspan's Baking: From my Home to Yours. Don't forget to checkout the TWD Blogroll!
Yeah for exams being finished! Those cookies look pretty good considering they're 3 weeks old :P I get what you mean about saving the calories for a chewy-gooey CCC, but my fave is still the good ol' fashioned oatmeal raisin cookie.
ReplyDeleteyaay for no more exams!
ReplyDeleteand hmm.. my family LOVES sugar cookies (esp. my mom and my youngest brother), but like you, i'd rather have a really more flavorful cookie, such as a ginger cookie. :)
btw those are gorgeous cookies!
HELL YES FOR GETTING THROUGH EXAMS!!! And for cookies :-D
ReplyDeleteGlad you have some time to breathe a little easier!! The cookies look great. I love the sprinkles. I'm with you, though...I'd rather have a CCC!!

ReplyDeleteI think it's hilarious that we agree on so many of the sweets stuff. And to think you know alot of the cool nutrition stuff I know too.
However, I do enjoy my sugar cookies. But... I can respect your CCC love :)
Happy holidays good buddy!
Yay for holiday break!! I thought the sugar cookie recipe was good but nothing spectacular. I just like cookie cutters.

ReplyDeletethose are so pretty!
ReplyDeletefor the chocolate marshmallow bars, i am pretty sure you could use your favorite cake recipe, as long as your cake isn't too fragile. it's been a year, though, so i can't say for sure.
